I found the info below on this website:http://www.lumie.com/help/quick-guides/sad

Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) and winter blues
Animals react to the changing seasons with changes in mood, metabolism and behaviour and human beings are just the same. Many people find they eat and sleep slightly more in winter and dislike the dark mornings and short days and this is commonly referred to as 'winter blues'. For some, however, symptoms are severe enough to disrupt their lives and to cause considerable distress. These people are suffering from SAD.
How does SAD affect people?
Symptoms tend to start from around September each year lasting until April, but are at their worst in the darkest months. Symptoms include:
Sleep problems - oversleeping but not refreshed, cannot get out of bed, needing a nap in the afternoon
Overeating - carbohydrate craving leading to weight gain
Depression, despair, misery, guilt, anxiety - normal tasks become frustratingly difficult
Family / social problems - avoiding company, irritability, loss of feeling
Lethargy - too tired to cope, everything an effort
Physical symptoms - often joint pain or stomach problems, lowered resistance to infection

I have it. Bad. Hey-I have SAD, bad.
Lights aren't working.
Would someone please tell me a joke or a riddle. Something. Anything.
My brain needs to go on life-support. I can't take the gray much longer.
Yes, I am using my very own, personal blog to vent. Vent, vent, vent.
There. Now I feel better.

  1. I think I have S.A.D. too and man, it is not fun! Hopefully spring will come quickly so that there will be an end to all this gloom and gray! In the meantime here is a cute joke I heard--its a groaner, but still pretty cute...

A family of skunks was trapped in a thicket, surrounded by a pack of hungry wolves that were edging even closer.

The Mother skunk calmly instructed her young: "Quickly children, let's put our heads together!"

After they obeyed, forming a circle, she continued, "Now-Let us spray!" :)

  2. I don't have a joke 'cause SAD has got me too - but I do think that explains a lot of what we were chatting about the other day. Hannah's joke already brightened my day!

  3. Thanks for the joke Hannah. You did make my day.:-) (Even tho it is a groaner)

  4. It isn't gray here. It's brown. Brown. Brown. Brown. Good thing I have my priorities straight so I don't get depressed. My shoes match my purse. Check. Big cup of denial. Check. I'll cry in the corner later.

  5. Judy, Judy, Judy, why you are such a cutie?

Please don't be sad, for when you are sad, I get mad.

For I don't like it when you have the September to April blues.

You do know that April is almost here.

April showers do bring May flowers.

Flowers in bloom, so beautiful that you'll have to sing a tune.

Well, I better go, so good bye to my friend...

The one with the sad baby blue boo hoos :(

    Okay...that was stupid...but I tried ;)
