A Little Detour & A p.s. for Mike D.

The problem: Cabin Fever.
The solution: Completely rearrange the furniture in 2 1/2 rooms of your house.

The problem: Discovering you had way more junk than you thought you did.
The solution: Spend 3 more days rearranging furniture, vacuuming and dusting under, over and around said furniture. Not to mention 2 more days purging, purging, purging.

The problem: Realizing you are an emotional, sentimental packrat.
The solution: Still working on that one.

The problem: Not wanting to blog until the "cabin" is back in order.
The solution: Hurry and get things done.

The problem: 2 kids to teach, laundry, ironing, cooking etc.
The solution: Run away from "cabin".?

The problem: Deep depression and confusion because while the "cabin" does look soooooo cozy and homey, mom has lost her scrapbook area.
The solution: Cry, eat chocolate, stare at the space that used to be mom's scrapbook area.

As good ole Arnold said, "I vill be back."

A note for Mike-I can't get my emails to go through to you. For some reason they keep coming back as "Undeliverable Mail". I just didn't want you to think I hated your guts or something.

  1. Enjoy your nice, clean "cabin". I'm so happy for you! You have your spring cleaning done two months early! Lucky, lucky girl. :-)

  2. Hmm...can't be without scrapbook area, now can we?! I recommend making one of the boys sleep on the roof and taking over their bedroom for a scrapbook room. ;-)

  3. Oh my goodness, this is great! Judy, I've told you so many times what a great writer you are, and you just reminded me of that again. As you know, I blogged about rearranging2 1/2 rooms of furniture last week. But my problem became knowing what to do with all the crap, um, I mean special items that I discovered that we simply don't have room for and I want out of my house now, but instead are lined up on both sides of our entry hall making passage very difficult and I know they will be there for a long time. But Judy, you have to be able to scrapbook so that IS a big problem. Hmm. Did the chocolate help you solve that problem?

  5. Dearest Mother,

It may just be that as my poor, wretched body shuts down system by system and the faint ember of life deep within my soul slowly flickers out that my eyes are oversensitive - but I don't think the new format is as beneficial in creating the atmosphere of warmth and compassion that your loyal devotees have come to expect and depend on.

    Your favorite, most beloved son,

    Ben

PS Don't worry, that run-on sentence is the result of a bad habit i picked up after leaving your tutelage, so it isn't your fault.

PPS I hate having the flu. Stupid free will.

  7. I'm sorry that you lost your scrapbooking space! I am in the process of trying to create a craft space for me. There is only one room in the whole house that my boys (specifically my 2 1/2yr old) aren't aloud and thats my husband's music room. He has been gracious enough to agree to share this grown up room with me. Now to create a functional space in there without invading his space so much that he kicks me out!

  8. I like the new look of your blog. It says something about you, Judy. You're a "Lone Duck in a Big Pond."

Ben, I'm sick, too. Did your free will have anything to do with my current illness and the fact that this sentence is also a run on sentence and that I don't care if it is? Sentence fragment.

  9. Big Doofus -
I'm going to follow that oldest and noblest of human traditions and pass the blame for our sickness on to everyone else. I think we should just go with Eve and blame the serpent for "causing" the fall, since blaming Eve and her kind would get us into way too much trouble.

    Hope you're feeling better.

  10. Okay, this is Kim and I helped little miss Judy with her "rearranging", BUT I didn't think we got rid of your scrapbook area....did we? If so, we need to fix that :)! We have to think of a plan to get it back! I feel bad :(!
